MATT SHAW: What's your name?

RICHARD BRENDEL: My name is Richard Russell Brendel. I'm the founder of Beefy Passion.

MS: What is Beefy Passion?

RB: Well, the idea kind of came about when Alice Ayers and Tyce Jensen and I were talking; talking about perfume. And Tyce, he doesn't get turned on by many perfumes. He doesn't feel like leaping onto a woman by smelling their perfume very often. So it got the wheels in my head turning. It got my creative juices flowing. And I was thinking, what could be a scent that Tyce Jensen-that would make him want to pretty much jump on the woman? Is that being too offensive, "jumping onto her"? I'm not meaning anything sexual by that. Is that OK? OK. And, what would make him want to just kiss the woman or something? And, I was thinking the one scent that no man can resist-what is it? It just popped into my mind: barbecue ribs! And so, I thought, lets have a perfume named after this. And thus, "Beefy Passion" is born.

MS: You're going to spray it on yourself, you're going to rub it on yourself, and it's just going to smell like barbecue ribs?

RB: I think we're gonna to for different flavors too. We're gonna go for "mesquite." We're gonna go for "hickory," which was Brad Filla's idea, he thought that hickory was a good idea. And then we're gonna for my favorite: "Outdoor Barbecue." And for the vegetarians we're gonna have like flavors like, we're gonna have a branch of Beefy Passion called "Seductive Soy," or "Soy Seduction," I mean. It's about the same kind of thing. What was the question again?

MS: What sort of steps are you going to take to advertise, manufacture?--have you come up with any process for getting this barbecue ribs smell?

RB: Well, I was thinking, once in a while Jewel has some barbecue sauce on sale. And we can't like use a regular barbecue sauce because it'd be like-you gotta worry about lawsuits or something. But you can have add like sugar water or something to it, to like bring down the thickness of it too, because girls don't want like it all oily on them, you know what I mean? So we're going to add sugar water to it probably, that's how we're going to produce it. Like get some like Black Pitt Barbecue Sauce or whatever...
